About Unconventional Magnets
Unconventional Magnets is a set of reading guides to the pamphlets of Edward Leedskalnin, the builder of Coral Castle in Florida. He printed them in the 1930s and 1940s. We read each pamphlet section by section, describe the experiments it contains, and place his claims next to what standard physics says. A second group of pages covers Saturn, the history of astronomy, the Great Pyramid, and number patterns. The rule is the same: what is documented, with a source.
What you will find here
The core of the site is the Coral Castle hub and the five pamphlet guides that hang from it. Each guide follows the text in order, quotes short passages with attribution and date, and ends with a parts list for the experiments described. Magnetic Current (1945) gets the longest guide, because it contains most of the wire-and-magnet experiments.
A magnetism basics page explains poles, fields, domains, and what a U-shaped magnet does, using textbook physics. Every "What standard physics says" box on the site points back to it.
The Saturn hub and the hexagon fact sheet use NASA/JPL mission data and peer-reviewed papers. The numbers hub checks the Fibonacci and golden-ratio claims against published measurements. The pyramid page lists dimensions and construction evidence from Egyptological sources.

Since when
The domain published its first page in February 2014. That earlier site was built around embedded videos and stopped posting in 2018. The current editorial project, with rewritten texts, redrawn diagrams and sourced physics notes, started in 2026. We do not claim any experience beyond that.

How we work
We read the pamphlets from the scanned editions on archive.org and quote no more than two sentences per section, always attributed and dated. We present Leedskalnin's theories as his theories. Next to them we state what standard physics says, with a link to a university text, HyperPhysics, or NIST.
We redraw the experiment diagrams ourselves as numbered SVG schematics, so the text can name each component. The parts lists give generic characteristics only: magnet shape, wire gauge, battery type. No prices, no brands, no stores.
We have not run the experiments. Where a page describes an outcome, it says who reported it and where. If we or a collaborator replicate one, the page will say so, with a date and our own photograph.
What we do not do
- We do not reproduce the full text of any pamphlet. The scanned editions are on archive.org, and we link to them.
- We do not embed videos or load third-party scripts. We cite videos by title and channel, as plain links.
- We do not make health or wellness claims. Pages that did so on the old site now redirect elsewhere.
- We do not publish reviews, star ratings, or prices.
