How this site earns (and what we do not do)
As of September 2026, Unconventional Magnets earns nothing. There are no affiliate links, no display advertising, no sponsored pages, and no payments collected on the site. This page states that plainly and sets out what we will do if that changes.
What the site shows today
Several guides end with a parts list: the magnets, wire, batteries and compass that a given experiment in Leedskalnin's pamphlets calls for. Those lists name generic characteristics only, such as magnet shape or wire gauge. They carry no link to any store and no price.
The pamphlet guides also mention that reprint editions exist and are sold by major booksellers. That sentence has no link either. You buy where you prefer, and we receive nothing.
What may change
We may join an affiliate program in the future, for example Amazon Associates, to link the books and materials the guides already describe. Nothing has been signed, and no such link exists on the site today.
If we join a program, four things will happen on the day the first link goes live:
- Every affiliate link will carry
rel="sponsored", so search engines can tell it apart from an editorial link. - The words "affiliate link" will appear next to each such link, in the text, not in a footnote.
- This page will show the exact statement the program requires, in the program's own wording, together with the date we joined.
- A one-line disclosure will sit above the first affiliate link on each page that has one, in addition to the footer.
Until then, the site carries none of these, because there is nothing to disclose.
How we choose what to mention
The materials named in a guide are the materials the pamphlet asks for. Where Magnetic Current describes a coil wound on a spool and a U-shaped magnet, the reading guide names a coil and a U-shaped magnet. No commission will change that list, and we will not add a brand because it pays more.
The same applies to books. We link the scanned editions on archive.org because they are free and complete. We mention a reprint as an option, not as a recommendation.
What we do not do
- No display advertising, on any page.
- No analytics and no tracking scripts. We read aggregate search data in Google Search Console, which runs on Google's side and sets nothing on your browser.
- No third-party cookies and no embedded players or widgets.
- No payments collected on this site. There is no shop, no checkout, no donation button.
- No reviews, star ratings, or "best of" lists.
- No sponsored articles. Nobody has paid for a page, and no page is for sale.
